Oniburedi: Cardinal Foundation unveils Olajumoke Orisaguna’s return, set to empower her future
On Wednesday, 20 November 2024, Cardinal Foundation held a press conference in Lagos to unveil the highly anticipated return of Olajumoke Orisaguna, popularly known as “Oniburedi.”
Adedoja Allen, the MD/CEO of City FM, described the Cardinal Foundation as a transformative corporate social responsibility initiative dedicated to uplifting underserved and disadvantaged communities by providing essential tools and opportunities for a better future. She highlighted the Olajumoke Restoration Project as a groundbreaking initiative inspired by the unique challenges faced by the average Nigerian girl. “Through this project, we aim to equip Olajumoke with the skills, resources, and opportunities to reclaim her potential. More importantly, the project seeks to ignite a movement that empowers girls and women across the country,” she said.
Allen also shared some of the foundation’s notable achievements, including awarding scholarships to students at the School for the Blind and providing free media training at the City Media Academy. These initiatives, she explained, have equipped talented individuals with the skills to build independent and meaningful careers.
The CEO of Media Room Hub, Azuka Ogujuiba, detailed Olajumoke’s journey to fame, emphasising the hardships she endured, including being misled and abandoned by those she trusted. She expressed confidence in Olajumoke’s ability to make a positive impact, noting that her comeback would inspire others and serve as a testament to resilience and determination.
Reflecting on her past, Olajumoke acknowledged her mistakes and expressed gratitude for the second chance she had been given. She urged others to remain hardworking and appreciative of their benefactors. Olajumoke also shared her aspirations of returning to school and encouraged parents to prioritise their children’s education.
Cardinal Foundation is committed to restoring Olajumoke’s dignity and providing her with the resources to rebuild her life. Through this initiative, the foundation aims to serve as a beacon of hope for others facing similar struggles, inspiring them to overcome adversity and reach their full potential.
