empowering disadvantaged Women & Girls

“EquipHer” was inspired by the story of a young girl in Abeokuta Lape who dropped out of secondary school when she got pregnant;  driven away from home by her father. Her mother could not help because she in turn relies on Lape’s father for survival. The man who impregnated Lape could not support her financially. She struggled to survive as a single mother and in this struggle got pregnant with her 2nd child. She approached us to assist her learn a vocation and pay back after her “freedom”. Lape did not ask nor beg for money. She asked to be empowered for fronancial freedom. There are many Lapes that need help. Our mandate is to empower and make every disadvantaged female independent financially.

“EquipHer” is a free training and start up empowerment programme with aim to train 200 females every year.

Our maiden outing was on 8th March 2017 in commemoration of International Women’s day.
