Hon. Lola Akande Lagos State Commissioner for WOMEN affairs & poverty alleviation & Toun Okewale Sonaiya during a visit to the ministry. Hon Akande charged WFM 91.7 to promote Women affairs and the family as the bedrock of our society and to work together to address issues of violence and abuse in women and children, empower Women through skills and acquisition to alleviate poverty and not stigmatise or marginalise those living with HIV.
The Honorable Commissioner said” We are proud of you to think of a radio station for women, more women should come out to exhibit what they are made of, through this Nigerians will know there are women out there who are capable.
We also want to use this opportunity to inform the public that we have 18 skill acquisition centres that are available to the public at no cost and all the needed tools will be provided by the government”. Toun Okewale Sonaiya C.E.O of WFM 91.7 assured Hon. Akande that WFM91.7 will work closely with the ministry using radio as a tool for WOMEN development, foster unity in communities and restore family values back to our communities.
