The Commonwealth Businesswomen Network Nigeria Chapter

The Commonwealth Businesswomen Network Nigeria Chapter marked the Commonwealth Day with a conference themed “Delivering a Common Future; Connecting, Innovating, Transforming” which was held at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island Lagos on Monday March 9 2020.

The Governor of Lagos state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu represented by the Permanent Secretary for Lagos State Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment, Mrs. Boladele Dapo-Thomas applauded the efforts of the Common Wealth Business Women Network in promoting women empowerment noting that their activities will complement existing women empowerment and entrepreneurial development programmes being implemented by both the public and private sectors.

Chairperson of Commonwealth Businesswomen Network, Mrs Afoma Clara Adigwe called for a renewed commitment by government and private sectors for women economical empowerment, in terms of action and acceleration.

The Comptroller General of Customs represented by the Assistant Comptroller General of Customs and Zonal Coordinator, Zone A Headquarters, Lagos, K.C. Ekekezie, in her keynote speech stated that the theme of the event is intended to achieve goals such as protecting natural resources and boosting trade.

On her part, the Southwest Zonal Director National Communication for Refugees, Mrs. Margaret Ngozi Ukegbu revealed that the commission dealt with migratory issues and worked with other stakeholders to ensure that the migration policy runs its full course.
The event also featured the inauguration of the organization’s management team in preparation for its launch in April.
