Press Release: 50 Young Women in Cross River State for 2023
Women In Politics Forum (WIPF) trains 50 women in Calabar in preparation towards 2023. The 2-day Young Women Political Academy focused on strengthening the capacity of grassroot women, developing personal strategic plan, using mainstream and social media to gain political visibility and mentoring.
The workshop was declared opened by Rt. Honourable Itam Abang representing Boki 1 constituency who encouraged the young women to make good use of the training to win elections in 2023.
According to the president of WIPF Barrister Ebere Ifendu, the 2-day training will increase the number of Cross River women participating and winning in 2023 elections. Ifendu said “we are preparing the grounds for women to win elections in 2023”

Honourable Rita Ayim, State Commissioner for Women Affairs applauded the initiative while Paddy Ally (IPAC) said this workshop will “fill the gross deficit of women in politics in the state”
The 2-day training workshop under the political academy for young women in politics is supported by UNWomen.
