Symrise Launches New Application Laboratories in Lagos
In a bid to offer premium and sophisticated ingredient solutions that cater to local tastes and preferences, Symrise a global manufacturer of flavours, fragrance, and cosmetic has launched its new application laboratories on Tuesday 28 May 2024 in Ikeja, Lagos.
The German-based company identified Nigeria as a key pathway to growth in Africa, particularly in the Sub-Saharan region, speaking during a Press Conference and Launch Event, Symrise Vice President for EAME Scent, Care, and Fragrance, René Hemeier highlighted the strategic importance of Nigeria and Ghana for the company’s expansion while reiterating Symrise’s commitment to enhancing value delivery to its consumers in the region. “We’ll collaborate with a lot of partners and try to develop the market needs of the people,” Hemeier added.
Iyabode Ogunwole, Key Account Manager for Symrise Nigeria, also noted the company’s efforts to work with local partners to reach SMEs and develop the market. Ogunwole noted this during a presentation while emphasising the importance of taste to consumers.
Lilian Regnier, President of Symrise Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, spoke on the company’s long-term commitment to Nigeria adding that Symrise Nigeria has operated in the country for over thirty years and has invested in building, maintaining and running operations here. Regnier noted that Nigeria represents a pathway to growth for the organisation in the Central, East, and West African regions and expressed confidence that the economic trajectory of the country will serve as a net positive to global manufacturers and organizations who believe in the future of Nigeria. ” With the new application laboratory, Symrise aims to further its growth and enhance its offerings in the region, reinforcing its dedication to sustainable and locally tailored solutions” he added.
