GOROSO-GIWA CALLS FOR GOVERNMENT POLICY REFORMS IN KWARA

International Women Communication Center (IWCC) today hosted Kwara state security agencies and top government officials to a training workshop in Ilorin the State capital. The strategic workshop with key state actors focused on accountability and practical solutions to fight corruption in governance.

Convener Dr Limota Goroso Giwa the executive director of IWCC in her welcome address lamented an increase in gender based violence, corruption and low response from the Government in solving these problems. Goroso Giwa calls for reforms in government policies to improve and better the lives of all women in Kwara State.

Participants at the training workshop include the state Commissioner for communication Adenike Afolabi Oshatimehin,
DSP Ajayi Okasanmi, Kwara State Police Public Relations Officer, journalists and women groups.

The training workshop which held at Kwara hotels is an initiative of International Women Communication Center (IWCC) in partnership witb WRAPA and supported by MacArthur Foundation.
