Nigeria Governors’ Spouses Forum Announces 6th Annual Summit on Ending Digital Violence

The Nigeria Governors’ Spouses Forum (NGSF) has announced that its 6th Annual Summit will take place on Thursday, 4th December 2025 at 2:00pm, at the Congress Hall of the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.

This year’s summit, themed “United for Change: Men and Women Ending Digital Violence Together,” continues the Forum’s deep commitment to tackling all forms of violence against women and girls this time spotlighting the rising threat of digital abuse.

For six years, the NGSF has created a national platform that brings together State First Ladies, policymakers, development partners, civil society organisations, and private sector leaders to address issues affecting women and girls. The 2025 edition builds on this momentum by turning the spotlight to the fast-growing crisis of digital violence.

Today, technology influences almost every aspect of life learning, business, communication, politics yet women and girls often face the darker side of this digital age. Online harassment, cyberbullying, sextortion, misinformation, stalking, and digital surveillance continue to silence women’s voices and deepen gender inequality.

The 6th Annual Summit seeks to change that narrative. It will explore practical solutions to make Nigeria’s digital spaces safer, more inclusive, and more empowering for women and girls. A central message of this year’s theme is clear: ending violence is a collective responsibility. Men must be part of the solution—as role models, allies, and champions of change.

The Forum maintains that every Nigerian woman and girl deserves the freedom to participate safely whether on the streets or on social media. As digital platforms continue to evolve, the NGSF says now is the time for unified action to ensure technology becomes a tool for empowerment, not harm.

Stakeholders, partners, and members of the public are invited to join the movement for a safer and more equal digital future for all.
