VOW2025: Nigerian Women & The Power of Collective Action

The 9th edition of the annual Voice of Women Conference & Awards (VOW2025) is set to hold on Thursday, 2nd October 2025, at the NAF Conference Centre, Abuja, Nigeria. This year’s conference will gather grassroots and urban women, policymakers, and leaders across various sectors to harness the power of collective action in shaping Nigeria’s future.

With the theme “Nigerian Women & The Power of Collective Action”, VOW2025 will spotlight the strength of women’s unity in driving transformative policies and sustainable progress. Building on the achievements of VOW2024, which emphasized women’s inclusion for a sustainable Nigeria, this year’s conference deepens the conversation by showcasing how collaboration across class, region, and sector is key to lasting impact.

The conference will feature keynote speeches, panel discussions, fireside chats, exhibitions, and networking opportunities. Distinguished speakers and guests include Vice President Kashim Shettima GCON, former Deputy President of South Africa, Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, Speaker of the House of representative Rt Hon Tajudeen Abbas PhD, Deputy Speaker House of Representatives Rt Hon Benjamin Kalu CFR, Nigeria’s Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development Hon. Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim fsi, British Deputy High Commissioner Abuja, Gill Lever OBE, Erelu Bisi Adeleye-Fayemi, Sherifat Taleat, Hansatu Adegbite and Funmilola Paseda Oladoyinbo alongside other thought leaders committed to strengthening women’s role in national development.

According to the Convener Toun Okewale Sonaiya , VOW2025 is not just a gathering but a movement, reaffirming that when women act together, they become a formidable force for equity, justice, and nation-building. “Irrespective of political affiliation, economic status, ethnic background, faith, age, ability or disability, women must support women. Only then can Nigerian women move from passive participants in governance and leadership to becoming the decisive force that shapes it”

The Voice Of Women Conference & Awards (VOW) Is Nigeria’s largest inclusive platform convening key stakeholders from government, media, civil society, media, grassroots organisations and the private sector to inspire action and champion inclusion.
