INEC names OJEI as APM Presidential candidate
PRESS RELEASE
INEC names OJEI as APM Presidential candidate
1. On 19 December 2022, we invited and hosted INEC listed female gubernatorial candidates to a media parley in Abuja to give visibility to our 2023 female candidates.
2. It was brought to our attention that one of the participants referred to herself as presidential candidate of the Allied People’s Movement following a court judgement in May 2022.
3. Festus Okoye commissioner for information and voter education of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), in a conversation with Women Radio confirmed that Princess Chichi Ojei is the APM presidential candidate for the 2023 elections and is not aware of a court judgement.
4. Women Radio will only engage and support female candidates recognised and listed by INEC for the 2023 elections and not cases in court. We reiterate that the mandate of Women Radio WFM 91.7 is to promote and develop the causes of Nigerian women irrespective of social status.
5. We especially thank the Nigerian media who continue to work with us to promote Women in politics and leadership.
Signed
Toun Okewale Sonaiya
